I'm at a gathering of my wife's family. Her uncle died unexpectedly, and everyone was pretty somber until I hit on the idea to GM a game of All Outta Bubblegum (don't really need a GM but I'm most comfortable in that role). Maybe a dozen or more of her family members decided what the heck and we played it for about two hours.
It was an amazing experience and I think (I hope) it lifted everyone's spirits even just a little bit. She comes from a family of actors and singers, so everyone riffed off of each other really well.
It felt like I was conducting an orchestra, lol. Just wanted to share this. I don't believe there's a typo. For any action that you can't classify as 'kicking ass' you roll a d10 hoping to get a number equal to or less than the number of pieces of bubblegum you possess at the time. Example: you still have 8 pcs and maybe you need to see if there's a book in the library that has the information you need.
You must to roll a 1-8 to succeed in your search. If the librarians confront you, you can roll to kick their asses by rolling 9 or 10. Kicking ass can be used in any sense that some action might be 'kick ass' this is why it is broad. At least this is how I've always understood it.
