I would like to know which file should i download. I see UCSInstall_UCOS_10.5.1.10000-7.sgn.iso and UCSInstall_UCOS_UNRST_10.5.1.10000-7.sgn.iso. What is the difference between the two.
I have Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_8.0.1.10000-40.sgn, i tried installing it on my Vmware workstation but it gave an error saying 'Products now supported on current hardware' i gave 2gb ram and 120gb hdd. When i tried installing Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_UNRST_8.6.2.10000-14.sgn it went through with the installation.
Can i install CUCM 9 and above on vmware workstation? Also please let know do i get a demo of like 30, 60 days with the download or i have to get demo license from cisco. Kindly help, Thanks. 
Hi Mavis, U can download UCSInstall_UCOS_10.5.1.10000-7.sgn.iso. Which I am using or have seen been deployed in productions. UCSInstall_UCOS_UNRST_10.5.1.10000-7.sgn.iso is having less encryption features.its being explained on the Cisco Website. U have to convert this.iso to a bootable format. Google it u will find solution of converting. I haven't tried installing Cucm 9.X or above on Vmworkstation but I would suggest installing the EXSi on the workstation & then install these products on the ESXi.
By Default u will get 30 days demo period but u can get 180 days demo license after registering ur product to Cisco license portal. Hope this info will help u. How do you get a non-bootable image to get installed in production environment. Also, i have read that for lab purpose we can take a snapshot to revert back to the original VM state with the demo duration going back to 30/60 days but we have to revert it before it touches the 60th day. After say 30 or 60 days of demo cant i use the same again, as if redeploy/create a new vm and use it again for 30 days for lab purpose?
Sorry if my queries sounds noobish. Just like we can't use a non bootable.iso on windows or any OS to get installed on the PC. Same goes for the cucm.So u have to convert it if u r installing 1st time.but if u r upgrading cucm to a newer version then u can use the non bootable image.like upgrading cucm 7.X to 8.X. In production we normally get it shipped with the items from Cisco.or we download the image from Cisco & make it bootable depends.do a google on making a Cisco cucm non bootable as bootable.

This is no longer true starting with ELM on CUCM 9.0. There are no licenses installed by default and ELM will shutdown the products after a grace period.
A 60 day grace period allows administrators to add users even if insufficient licenses exist within the ELM license pool. If sufficient licenses are not available once the 60 day grace period expires, then the Unified Communications application(s) will no longer allow any further changes; however, the application(s) will continue to function with no loss of service. Unity Connection will outright halt services when the grace period expires. Your only path for a permanent lab/demo would be to purchase an NFR kit. That is true with 9.X version cisco introduced ELM / PLM.which is built into the cucm for maintaining the licenses for ur UC products like cucm & unity.as presence is now part of cucm. I personally haven't gone beyond the grace period. Ur downloaded copy can be used 1000 times in different installation. Reverting is just an option of retaining ur configuration which u configured after installation. For lab purpose u can take a snapshot after installation.so every time u revert u get like fresh items.
